Anthropic API key

Lets kokuban's AI run on an API key instead of your Claude subscription (ai.auth api-key)

You make: an API key
Where: https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys
Command: kokuban connect anthropic

Steps

Create Key, name it kokuban, copy it (sk-ant-…)

Then connect it

kokuban connect anthropic

kokuban asks for the key (it is not shown as you paste it), keeps it in your OS keychain, and tries it at once. If the key cannot do something, it says what to change.

On kokuban's screen, the connections list shows the services not connected yet: open one and press y, and the screen hands the terminal to this command.

Good to know

Only needed for ai.auth "api-key". By default kokuban's AI runs on your Claude subscription, through Claude Code, and needs no key.
The gateway hands the key to Claude Code when it starts; it is not written in kokuban's files.

If it does not work

Check the key's workspace has credit and may use the model

kokuban connections checks every connection and says which ones need you.

Taking it back

Run kokuban disconnect anthropic@hq, then delete the key in the Anthropic console.
