Any other API
Calls any HTTPS API with its key
- You make
- the API's key (its documentation says where)
- Command
kokuban connect http --base <https://api.example.com> --header <X-Api-Key> --prefix ""
Steps
- Make a key on the service, with only what kokuban needs
- Say where the API is (--base) and, if not Authorization: Bearer, how the key is sentMost APIs take Authorization: Bearer <key>; for those, --header and --prefix can be left out.
Then connect it
kokuban connect http --base <https://api.example.com> --header <X-Api-Key> --prefix ""kokuban asks for the key (it is not shown as you paste it), keeps it in your OS keychain, and tries it at once. If the key cannot do something, it says what to change.
On kokuban's screen, the connections list shows the services not connected yet: open one and press y, and the screen hands the terminal to this command.
Good to know
- --no-key for a public API.
- --host for other hosts of the same API; nothing else is reachable with this connection.
If it does not work
Give the key the permission the workflow needs, on the service's side
kokuban connections checks every connection and says which ones need you.
Taking it back
Run kokuban disconnect http@hq, then delete the key on the service.
