MCP servers
Uses the tools of an MCP server (Linear, Notion, your own…)
- You make
- the server's own sign-in, or nothing
- Command
kokuban connect mcp --server <name> --base <https://mcp.example.com>
Steps
- Already set up in Claude Code, Cursor or another tool? kokuban connect import takes them in
- A server on the web: give where it is; kokuban signs in with OAuth if it asks
- A server that runs on this computer: give its program; it runs in kokuban's boxkokuban pins the program by its hash. If it changes, connect again to approve the new one.
Then connect it
kokuban connect mcp --server <name> --base <https://mcp.example.com>kokuban asks for the key (it is not shown as you paste it), keeps it in your OS keychain, and tries it at once. If the key cannot do something, it says what to change.
On kokuban's screen, the connections list shows the services not connected yet: open one and press y, and the screen hands the terminal to this command.
Good to know
- --reads names the tools that only read; the others are treated as sending something, and wait for your yes the first time.
- A server that asks you to register an app: give its ID with --client-id.
If it does not work
Sign in again with --oauth, or give the server's key with --key-env
kokuban connections checks every connection and says which ones need you.
Taking it back
Run kokuban disconnect <name>@hq, and remove kokuban's access on the service's side if it has a page for that.
